Brewster Day Camp invites all campers to pursue and achieve personal growth through group challenges and individual success. Our campers participate in a variety of activities designed by professional, dedicated coaches, teachers, and university students. Trained BDC staff members foster age-appropriate social skills while encouraging physical growth, tenacious curiosity, heightened self-esteem, and strong leadership skills in all campers. Together with their friends and counselors who come to Cape Cod from all over the world, BDC campers learn to embody the camp motto through sharing: Courage, Hope, Good Spirit, & Peace.
BDC is accredited by the American Camping Association and is licensed by the State of Massachusetts via the Brewster Board of Health. BDC welcomes campers and staff to our 4.5 acre campus filled with tents, assembly areas, fields, playgrounds, pavilions, a low ropes course, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool all nestled in the woods and surrounded by Nickerson State Park. BDC is the summer component of our year round early childhood program which shares the same facility at The Family Schools (TFS) Inc.*
In all of our programs, TFS Inc.’s most valuable asset is our highly educated and dedicated faculty comprised of certified teachers, accomplished administrators, gifted coaches, a licensed pediatric nurse, and a camp paramedic. Our faculty remains dedicated to teaching children through their individual learning styles and provides each child with the skills to recognize and capitalize on his or her own gifts. At TFS Inc., our staff works closely to provide an excellent educational experience for each child. Documented in the book Common Sense Discipline by Grace Mitchell and Lois Dewsnap (Gryphon House 1995), as well as being named Top Ten Schools in the country for ‘supporting diverse families’ the work of our faculty has achieved national status.
* The Family Schools, Inc. and therefore Brewster Day Camp, embraces diversity in staff, students, families, and curriculum. TFS Inc. and BDC do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, culture, age, religion, political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or ability.
