BDC SAILING SCHOOL

Campers and children entering 4th through 10th grade are welcome to join our newest program. BDC Sailing School is offered 2 or 4 days per week, for 3 hours each afternoon. Lessons are held on our waterfront at Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park. Coached by US Sailing certified instructors, campers sail our fleet of Sunfish and Day Sailors. Once participants complete a session (2 or 4 days) of Sailing School, they are invited to sail in BDC's Friday Races, applying the skills and excitement learned earlier in the week. Sailing School may be added to an existing BDC camp schedule as an EXTRA. Teens, too old for regular camp are welcome to join this program! Participants meet at the BDC Office and are driven to and from our campus by a licensed and insured bus driver.

Sessions: Mon./Wed. or Tues./Thur.: $120, 4-days: $240
Friday Races optional and included in tuition for participants that week. $35 race fee for sailing on Friday of a non-enrolled week.

SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Monday &/or Tuesday

BDC offers semi-private swim lessons in our glorious pool! Certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors coach your child for half hour of individual swim instruction. Parents must remain on campus if the child is not enrolled in camp the day of a semi-private swim lesson. These lessons are in addition to regularly scheduled, mandatory morning swim classes for all BDC campers. Semi-private swim lessons are taught rain or shine. If the pool is closed, indoor lessons focus on strengthening and safety.

Times: 12:30-1pm, Mondays & Tuesdays
Cost: $40/per lesson or $80/wk.
*All campers must be on the Hills in order to participate in Semi-Private Swim Lessons.

TENNIS: Tuesday

Tennis lessons take place at the Blueberry Pond Courts at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster and are taught by a professional tennis coach hired by Ocean Edge, along with at least one BDC staff member. Instruction is offered at all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each camper MUST provide his/her own racket and tennis shoes. Fresh tennis balls are supplied by Ocean Edge.

HORSEBACK RIDING: Wednesday

English style private riding lessons take place at Woodsong Farm in Brewster under the licensed and insured instruction of Betty Avery, owner/operator, and her staff who instruct at all levels. Riders must come with heeled shoes and long pants or sacrifice their lesson. A rental helmet is included in the cost of the lesson. A Woodsong Farm Release Form is mailed to you upon enrollment and MUST be completed and returned to BDC prior to the lesson. An indoor lesson in the barn is provided on rainy days. GOLF: Thursday

Golf lessons, held at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, are taught by Ron Hallett, PGA Golf Pro, and his staff. Ocean Edge provides size appropriate clubs. However, if your child has his/her own clubs, please drop them off in the BDC Office on the day of the lesson. Due to limited storage space and safety, clubs may not be stored overnight at BDC and should never go out to the tents or elsewhere on campus.

WATER WIZZ TRIPS: Thursday

Water Wizz is located in Wareham, MA, and is Southern New England's only water theme park. BDC campers are in excellent care with our one counselor to six camper ratio for absolute child safety. BDC campers remain secure under the supervision of our Red Cross certified Life Guards as well as the Water Wizz staff. For more information about specific water rides and safety visit the Water Wizz web site at www.waterwizz.com. Water Wizz may be added one of two ways: 1.) If your child is already registered for camp on the day of the trip, you may add the Water Wizz to your child's schedule at a reduced rate. 2.) If your child is not registered to be at camp the day of a desired Water Wizz Trip simply enroll for the trip as an Extra Day. Send your child with a lunch or order a BDC Bag Lunch (see Bag Lunch below). During inclement weather, if the destination is open, the BDC trip will go. Only in the event of destination closure, will BDC refund trip fees. BDC is unable to reschedule or trade trips for any reason.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND "SPENDING MONEY" OR LUNCH MONEY WITH YOUR CHILD. CAMPERS MUST BRING A BAG LUNCH ON THIS TRIP.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Special Events are offered to regularly scheduled campers at no extra charge. If your child is not registered for camp on the day of a desired Special Event, you may add the Special Event as a single camp day. Enroll for these famous and well loved Special Events by checking the appropriate box on the Enrollment Form. All Special Events take place rain or shine. The following are Special Event Days:
