"Dear Misa,
Thank you for the nice note you sent along with the 2008 placement form. It was a nice reminder of camp, even though BDC is never far from my thoughts; a picture of the Hobie Cats recieving the tent award occupies a very prominent position on my desk here at school! I feel lucky, and even blessed to have had the opportunity to work there last summer and I want to you thank you for that opportunity. BDC really is a special place. I can't imagine working anywhere else, so I'm happy to accept your offer to return this upcoming summer. Enclosed is my job placement form, and I'll work on finding some friends to work there too! I hope preparations for the summer are going smoothly and I look forward to seeing you and the rest of your great staff in June."
Sincerely,
"1st Year Returning Male Tent Counselor"
Dear Misa,
I wanted to let you know that a little bit of BDC has come into great use in the Catholic University Education Department. As an education major I am required to take a course that focuses on the correct way to converse with children and parents. We are put in 4 different situations: 1) Shy child who does not want to participate; 2) Hyper child who can't focus; 3) A child that has misbehaved; and, 3) A group of nervous angry parents. Well, through out the semester, I have been evaluated on how I handled each situation. So I just received my grade and critiques and the professor decided that I had scored out of the class and have no need to continue [taking the class] due to my "flawless ability to make all conversations positive while simultaneously directing the issue towards the most desirable end solution." I must say, everything that I did in this class was exactly what I learned and did at camp. So I just thought I would let you know that not only do you direct an amazing camp, you offer your employees a college course in elementary education. Haha -- thanks for the A+!
Signed,
Your '07 Sprites Counselor
