Marcia Galazzi, Founder and President of The Family Schools, Inc. holds an M.Ed. from Harvard University, is a national leader in Early Childhood Education and has over 40 years experience in recreation programming.




Image of Milisa 'Misa' Galazzi.Milisa "Misa" Galazzi, Director of Brewster Day Camp, holds an M.A. in Education from the Rhode Island School of Design, a B.A. from Brown University, and has 20 years of leadership experience at BDC. In addition to directing camp, Misa is a professional artist and enjoys long distance open water swimming. Misa's husband, David Michel, and their two young sons join her each summer at BDC.

Amy Kinney, Associate Director of Brewster Day Camp, grew up attending Family School in it's first year, 1981 and then went on to earn a B.A. in Mathematics and Mass State Teaching Certification from Smith College. She was a BDC tent counselor, Activity Head of Art, and Misa's very first office assistant in June of 1997. She is an avid visual artist and lover of technology as well as a gifted math teacher. Amy resides happily on Cape Cod and enjoys music, warm weather, and traveling.


Image of David MichelDavid Michel, Associate Director, holds a BA from Amherst College and an MA from the University of Chicago. He serves as the Dean of Students at the Wheeler School in Providence, RI. David has been a member of the BDC family for more than a decade and a teacher since 1987. An avid camper and football aficionado, David also enjoys woodworking and clamming with his two sons.


Megan O’Leary, Assistant Director for Aquatics, holds a B.S. in Human Development with a concentration in Elementary Education a specialty in Moderate Special Needs from Wheelock College. Meg has been part of the TFS/BDC community for 16 years. She is an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and certified Life Guard and Pool Operator. During the winter Meg teaches 5th grade at Truro Elementary and eagerly awaits summer surfing with her dog Charlie.

Our Staff
BDC's Teaching Staff range in age from 17-65 years. Many are college students ages 19-24. Approximately 75% return from year to year. Teachers and graduate students comprise a good percentage of our teaching staff. All are committed to working hard, teaching children, and making magic while supporting families.
